Ragtime documents "read-only" workaround

Hi all,

I accidentally deleted a whole thread instead of my last reply. The thread was about Ragtime documents being "read-only" after saving.

This problem started after I for the first time protected a spreadsheet in a document. Since then every document I created, is read-only when I open it again. Do you recognize this problem? I am on Windows 10 Home 20H2.

A temporary workaround until this problem is solved, running Ragtime as an administrator. But instead of every time "right-clicking" and selecting "run as administrator" there is an easier solution.

1. Locate the directory in which Ragtime is installed.
2. Right-click on the "Ragtime.exe" file and select "Properties" in the popup menu.
3. Click on the "Compatibility" tab.
4. At the bottom select the option "Run this program as an administrator".
5. Click "OK".

From now on every time you open Ragtime, a security dialog appears. Just click "Yes" and you can write and change your documents again. This is not an ideal solution and has some restrictions. In the meantime of a solution, this is a good workaround.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Chris

Hi all,

This workaround is no longer necessary because there is a new update (RagTime 6.6.6 build 1910) that solves this issue. I tested the new version and everything works fine again in normal mode.

Thanks again to the RagTime team for fixing this issue.

Chris
