How to hide the Catalina update

In "Software Update", Apple lists all available updates. If you don't want to update to macOS Catalina yet, it could be hard to install just macOS 10.14 updates which will still be released in the future.
To hide the macOS Catalina update you may enter the following command in the Terminal app:

sudo softwareupdate --ignore "macOS Catalina"

followed by the admin password.

Now "Software Update" shows the message:
Your Mac is up to date – macOS Mojave 10.14.6

To show the Catalina update again the command

sudo softwareupdate --reset-ignored

can be used.
